bulletNotes: found as a self-sown seedling at Hillier's Nursery; does not have a strong constitution and is not reliably hardy, but perhaps the most eye-catching of all.
bulletCultivar: 'Merrist Wood Cream': a sport in which the background colour of the petals is creamy-yellow, found on a plant at Merrist Wood College. (This cultivar has itself given rise to a further sport - not yet available - lacking the maroon central zone)
